Abstract
This study investigated the improvement of students’ speaking ability through the use of the Shadowing Technique among tenth-grade students of Al-Mutawally Islamic High School. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving 50 students divided into an experimental and control groups. Data were collected through speaking tests and analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon Signed-Ranks Test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the mean score of the experimental group increased from 84.50 to 95.00, while the control group increased from 82.33 to 89.67. The Wilcoxon test showed significance values of 0.001 for the experimental group and 0.000 for the control group. The N-Gain results showed that the experimental group obtained 72.99%, categorized as high, while the control group obtained 42.27%, categorized as medium. These results indicate that students in the experimental group showed greater improvement in speaking ability than those in the control group.
