Abstract
This research aims to analyze the representation of heroic ethics and the structural pattern of Joseph Campbell’s Hero’s Journey in the film Ballerina (2025). The focus of this study lies in examining how the heroine’s narrative trajectory aligns with the monomyth stages and how her moral decisions reflect underlying frameworks of heroic ethics, particularly the negotiation between personal vengeance and ethical responsibility. This research employs descriptive qualitative method utilizing Joseph Campbell monomyth framework alongside ethical theories of heroism. The findings reveal that the heroine’s progression mirrors the major phases of the Hero’s Journey Departure, Initiation, and Return adapted to the gritty, criminal underworld setting of the narrative. Furthermore, the analysis demonstrates that heroic ethics in the film evolve from a self serving impulse for revenge toward a principle driven commitment to the protect others and confront systemic corruption. The study concludes that Ballerina (2025) redefines action heroism by combining moral growth with modern justice within a contemporary heroic narrative.
