Abstract

Vocabulary is an essential part of a language. Therefore, the quantity of words someone knows is of great role in this way the more words students know the better that will be able to comprehend what students hear and what you read, and consequently, the students can write in a more effective manner. The purposes of the research is to know: 1) the result of Students’ English Vocabulary before using Writing English Diary; 2) the result of Students’ English Vocabulary after using Writing English Diary; 3) the effect of Students’ English Vocabulary by using Writing English Diary. This research used the pre-experimental study. The population of this research was students at second grade of MA Asshiddiqiyah 3 Karawang and the sample is one class, in collecting the data, pre-test and post-test were conducted in one class. The test aimed to find out the significants differences between students English vocabulary before and after using writing English diary. The data was analyzed through statistical procedure. The result of the pre-test shows that 50,00 and the result of the post-test 71,00 therefore, the significant differences between students English vocabulary before and after using writing English diary are better the students after using writing English diary. The statistics show that the result of t-test shows that ttable on significance 5% with df = 21 is 2.08, while tcount is 6.93. It means that tcount (6.93) > ttable (2.08). It can be concluded that hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and (H0) is rejected. It means that there is a significant difference in students’ vocabulary mastery before and after the use of Writing English Diary as a media. In conclusion, teaching vocabulary on recount text using writing English diary as media can improve and can support students’ English vocabulary of the second grade of MA Asshiddiqiyah 3 Karawang. Therefore, the use of writing English diary is a better way to be required in teaching vocabulary and it is suggested for the teachers to use writing English diary which would be implemented in the classroom and would be used in teaching English especially teaching vocabulary in Senior High School.
