Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan adaptasi mahasiswa tahun pertama dalam mengatasi tantangan di lingkungan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh peer attachment dan self esteem terhadap college adjustment pada mahasiswa tahun pertama UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional prediktif. Melalui teknik incidental sampling, diperoleh jumlah sampel sebanyak 365 mahasiswa. Pengukuran variabel dilakukan menggunakan instrumen Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire (SACQ), Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA), Rosenberg Self Esteem Scale (RSES). Analisis data menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahawa peer attachment dan self esteem secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap college adjustment (F=3,140; p < 0,05). Secara parsial, peer attachment tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap college adjustment, sedangkan self esteem berpengaruh signifikan terhadap college adjustment, dengan total kontribusi (R^2) sebesar 1,6%.
