Abstract
According to the translation result of “Greetings from Tambora”, the translator is very grateful to be able to translate the four chapters of the book well and gain extraordinary knowledge, especially regarding the Tambora eruption which has a great impact for this globe. The explanation is very light and easy to understand because this book is accompanied by color images that makes the reader not get bored quickly. Translator also hope to help Indonesian people to be able to read this book in Indonesian version. This book can help archeology and history students to study historical approaches by examining primary sources such as culture and environmental conditions from previous civilizations. The eruption of Tambora is one of the largest volcanic eruptions in the modern history. The impact spread all over the globe and influenced European history. This book tell us how amazing the caldera was formed and how this became an everlasting geotouristic object for all of us to be appreciated and managed for our prosperity and geoheritage. This book is a valuable Indonesian contribution to the world in the field of natural and cultural history. This timely recollection of Tambora events is an excellent reminder of gigantic eruptions, and the effects, that will surely occur again. The more we can learn from this history, the better prepared we will be when the next such event occurs.
