Abstract

Bourgeoisie is a social class of people characterized by capital ownership and related to their ownership is part of the upper middle class, while the Proletariat is the term used to describe people without wealth or low class. Rachel Chu is an economist lecturer who is usually dating Nick who is from the richest family background in Asia, but their love is hindered by different castes. Focus this research is bourgeoisie and proletarian action. This thesis uses a mimetic approach. This mimetic approach sees literature as an imitation, reflection, and representation of the universe and human life. This thesis uses qualitative methods, In analyzing data, researchers used Marxist literary criticism. Marxist literary criticism also fulfills the concepts and logical principles of research.The research is to find out how the proletariat and bourgeois class are represented in Crazy Rich Asians novel, how the upper class oppresses the lower classes, and how the lower classes try to defend their rights. In the Crazy Rich Asians novel, the image of the class community refers to the implicit meaning in showing the upper and lower classes. The description of the upper and lower classes in this novel can be recognized that the upper and lower classes in this novel can be recognized that the upper class does everything as a master, while the lower classes do everything to defend their rights. By identifying the class community, the oppression of the upper class to the lower classes, and also analyzing the lower class struggle against the upper classes shown in this novel.
