Abstract
In this research, the researcher analyzed novel by Agatha Christie And Then There Were None and its Indonesian version Lalu Semuanya Lenyap translated by Mareta as the object of the study. It is very interesting because the main purpose for translators of prose literature, especially novels, is to be able to create the same effect for TL readers as perceived by SL readers, because topics of Idioms cannot be clearly expressed and interpreted to the target language. The researcher uses the type of Idioms theory from Chitra Fernando and translation strategies theory from Mona Baker to analyze the data. The research method of this research is a descriptive qualitative method. The researcher used five steps in collecting the data, reading, listing, finding, providing and determining the data. Then, the technique of analyzing data used three steps, identifying, classifying, describing the data. The results of this research are: First, The researcher found 54 data in this analysis. The data found by the writer are 19 data are type of pure idioms, 18 data are type of semi idioms and 18 data for type of literal idioms. It shows that the author mostly used the type of pure Idioms. Second, from 54 data of Idiom, They use idioms with similar meanings and forms 13 out of 54, using idioms with the same meaning but different forms 15 out of 54, translations by paraphrasing 25 out of 54, and translations by omission 1 out of 54. In the analysis, it was found that most were Idioms that occur in the novel are translated using paraphrasing strategy. This happens because of equality in Idioms cannot be found in the target language.
