Abstract

In this Final Report, the writer translated a book entitled “The Boy Who Knew Everything” is a middle grade novel by victoria Forester. This book tells about story the boy who knew everything. Conrad Harrington III doesn’t want to be a super genius, he just wants to live a normal life. This Final Report the writer consist to translate from chapter 16-23. The conlusion, the writter used three of eight methods by Newmark (1998) there are; Word for word translation, literal translation and free translation as they are more flexible in grammatical contructions so can create a nearest meaning with considering the context of the text. In translating this book the writter found some difficulties and feels many mistake and got a little of trouble in translating this book, because a lot of words are difficult, and strange stroy made the writer difficulty to imagine what he meaning of the sentence, but all of them are challenge for the writer.
