Abstract

The movie, also called film is visual art created by photography actual scene with a motion picture camera. The researcher uses movie as the object of research, which is one of the media that is easy to study of deixis. Deixis is one part of pragmatics that discusses expressions or context into a sentence. Sometimes to find out what the writer or speaker means in his utterance, at least one has to understand who is the reference. A reference is used to refer to something or someone. Purposes of research are to find out what types of deixis are found in Aladdin’s Movie (2019) and what references of deixis are found in Aladdin’s Movie (2019). This researcher uses Levinson's theory. The source of data taken from script of Aladdin Movie (2019). This research uses qualitative research. Qualitative research approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and report writing. It means that the researcher makes the interpretations of the data, it is about deixis terms. As the results There are 113 data in the Aladdin movie. All of the data are formed by five types of deixis, there are 38 person deixis, 15 place deixis, 15 time deixis, 10 discourse deixis and 15 social deixis. Meanwhile, there are two types of reference, there are anaphora and cataphora. There are 12 which include anaphora and 8 include cataphora.The most dominant types of deixis found in Aladdin movie (2019) is person deixis. In this case, the most common types of deixis are the use of I and you. Meanwhile, the most widely used reference type is the anaphora indicating something that has been previously mentioned.
