Abstract

ENGLISH : This research is a conversation analysis study which focuses on the analysis.The objectives of this research are: (1) to investigate the type of repair, and (2) to identify the pattern of repair employed by the participants in conversation of Beauty and the Beast cast on Totally Emma Watson Youtube Channel.This research employed a qualitative method. The data sources were the transcript of conversations from videos on Totally Emma Watson Youtube Channel. The videos are about conversation of Beauty and the Beast cast. The research reveals two things. First, the 55 repairs uttered by the participants in conversation of Beauty and the Beast cast on Totally Emma Watson Youtube Channel belong to three types, i.e. self-initiated self-repair, self-initiated other-repair, and other-initiated other-repair. Self-initiated self-repair is employed most often, i.e. 55 times. Self-initiated self-repair is the most often appearing type in the conversation of Beauty and the Beast cast videos on Totally Emma Watson Youtube channel. It occurs 52 times. Additionally, other-initiated other-repair is a type of repair which is the second employed quite often as well. It appears twice. Self-initiated other-repair having a small number of occurrence. It only appears once. While the types of other-initiated self-repair is the only types that doesn’t appear in three videos. Second, there are four patterns applied to deliver repair completions. Replacement is the most-often pattern occur in conversation of Beauty and the Beast cast on Totally Emma Watson Youtube channel, i.e. 24 times. Modification appears 15 times and abandonment appears 12 times. Reorganization is ranked the lowest; it appears 4 times. INDONESIA : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis percakapan yang berfokus pada analisis repair. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) untuk mengetahui jenis repair, dan (2) untuk mengidentifikasi pola repair yang digunakan oleh partisipan dalam percakapan para pemeran Beauty and the Beast di saluran Youtube Totally Emma Watson. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Sumber data berasal dari transkrip video di saluran Youtube Totally Emma Watson. Video-video itu tentang percakapan para pemeran Beauty and the Beast. Hasil penelitian mengungkap dua hal. Pertama, dari 55 data repair yang terdapat dalam video percakapan para pemeran Beauty and the Beast yang ditayangkan di saluran Youtube Totally Emma Watson, terdapat tiga jenis repair yang muncul, yaitu self-initiated self-repair, self-initiated other-repair, dan other-initiated other-repair. Self-initiated self-repair merupakan tipe yang sering muncul yaitu terjadi sebanyak 52 kali. Kemudian urutan kedua adalah other-initiated other-repair, yaitu terjadi sebanyak 2 kali. Kemudian Self-initiated other-repair muncul sekali. Sedangkan jenis perbaikan other-initiated self-repair adalah satu-satunya jenis atau perbaikan yang tidak muncul dalam video percakapan para pemeran Beauty and the Beast. Kedua, terdapat empat pola yang digunakan untuk melengkapi repair dalam percakapan para pemeran Beauty and the Beast, yaitu replacement, modification, abandonment, dan reorganization. Replacement adalah pola yang paling sering digunakan, yaitu 24 kali. Kemudian modification yang muncul sebanyak 15 kali dan abandonment yang muncul sebanyak 12 kali. Reorganization berada di peringkat terendah, itu muncul 4 kali.
