Abstract
INDONESIA : Sludge merupakan limbah berbentuk lumpur atau endapan suspensi limbah cair dan mikroorganisme yang berasal dari Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL). Dalam Peraturan Pemerintah (PP) no. 101 tahun 2014, sludge IPAL termasuk kategori limbah beracun dan berbahaya (B3) dengan kode limbah B351-4. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan metode penanganan limbah yang berperan dalam mengolah sludge menjadi bahan yang tidak berbahaya bagi lingkungan. Kandungan humus dan unsur hara dalam sludge berpotensi dimanfaatkan sebagai kompos melalui mekanisme Vermicomposting. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perubahan parameter sifat fisik-kimia dan mikrobiologi dari Sludge IPAL Laboratorium Terpadu UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung melalui Vermicomposting dengan memanfaatkan cacing tanah Eisenia fetida selama 8 minggu. Sebanyak empat perlakuan vermibin berisi campuran media kotoran sapi (KS) dan sludge (S) terdiri dari V1/kontrol (100% KS), V2 (75% KS + 25% S), V3 (50% KS + 50% S) dan, V4 (25% KS + 75% S) dengan berat total setiap vermibin 500 gram dan cacing dewasa sebanyak 20 ekor (5-6 gram/20 ekor). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media pada perlakuan V2 memperoleh nilai paling optimum berdasarkan parameter fisik yakni pH 7.05, EC 1.99 dan suhu 28.70oC, sifat kimiawi berupa persentase C, N, P, dan K yang masuk dan mendekati standar SNI 7763-2018, serta memiliki populasi mikroba tertinggi (bakteri = 367.68 x 1010 ; fungi = 62.68 x 104). Kesimpulan penelitian ini ialah metode vermicomposting dengan Eiseina fetida berpengaruh terhadap perubahan sifat fisik-kimia dan mikrobiologi dari sludge IPAL Laboratorium Terpadu UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. ENGLISH : Sludge is waste in the form of suspended liquid waste and microorganism from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). In the 2014 Government Regulation (PP) No 101, sludge from WWTPs is classified as Toxic and Hazardous Waste (B3) with waste code B351-4. Consequently, there must be waste management methods that play a role in threating sludge as non-hazardous to the environment. The humus and nutrient content of sludges can be used as compost by the vermicomposting mechanism. This research was conducted to determine the Modification of the Physicochemical and Microbiological Properties of Sludge Treatment Plants Integrated Laboratory UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung through Vermicomposting method using the Eisenia fetida for 8 weeks. A total of four vermibin treatments containing a mixture of cow dung (CD) and sludge (S) media consisted if V1/control (100% CD), V2 (75% CD + 25% S), V3 (50% CD + 50% S) and V4 (25% CD + 75% S) with a total weight of 500 grams each vermibin and 20 adult worms (5-6 grams/20 worms). The findings demonstrated that the composition of the media in treatment V2 obtained the most optimum value based on physical parameters of pH 7.05, EC 1.99, and temperature 28.70oC, as well as chemical properties in the form of percentages of C, N, P and K that close and approached the SNI 7763-2018 standard. The study’s finding indicates that changes in the physicochemical and microbacterial characteristics of the WWTP sludge at the integrated Laboratory of UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung are influences by the vermicomposting method with Eisenia fetida.
