Abstract

This research aims to find out the implementation of The English We Speak Podcast on EFL Students’ listening skill at the eighth grade of SMPN Satu Atap 2 Bantarkalong. It also emphasizes the improvement of the EFL students’ listening skill by using The English We Speak Podcast. The research used a pre-experimental method, including one group pre-test and post-test design consisted of six meeting towards the treatment and tests at the eighth grade. The data was taken by random sampling technique and the total number of samples was 28 students in class Eight. The data was obtained by using multiple choices and fill in the blank. The findings revealed that the mean score of the students’ improvement to their listening was 55.18 in pre-test and become 78.93 in post-test. The students’ improvement their listening skill was supported by the value of t-test that is higher than the value of t-table (21.399 > 5.873). Therefore, the alternative was accepted and Null Hypothesis was rejected. This study proposed that using The English We Speak Podcast improved EFL students’ listening skill to the Eight grade of SMPN Satu Atap 2 Bantarkalong. It implies that The English We Speak Podcast is affective in language learning to improve students’ listening skill. Therefore, the investigator offers to the teachers to use The English We Speak Podcasts website to help their students to improve their listening skills.
