Abstract
There are four skills English reading, speaking, listening and writing, and three components: grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Grammar needs to be known by the students. However, in the reality Indonesians could not produce English word correctly, they got confused when they applied grammar in speaking especially about singular and plural. The purpose of the study is: (1) to find out kinds the students’ errors using of the difficulties of students in using singular and plural in speaking. The researcher used qualitative descriptive method. The researcher involved 9 students of Al-Ihsan who are categorized into low, middle, and a high achiever. The researcher finds out that students’ grammatical error in using singular and plural nouns in speaking: There are three errors of achieve in speaking: high, middle, and low. It has types error are irregular nouns, proper nouns, suffix categories, and common nouns in high achieve. Irregular nouns, and suffix categories for middle achieve. Suffix categories for low achieve. This research concludes that students have problems grammar in speaking exactly speech. This problem caused them to underestimate. They are not accustomed to using singular and plural nouns. So that way, they are difficult to speak using singular and plural nouns.
