Abstract

ENGLISH : Language is a communication tool used by humans directly or indirectly. Basically, language must be conveyed as clearly as possible so that listeners can understand the meaning of conversation without ambiguity, so that a conversation or communication can run smoothly. But in its use, sometimes the speaker's intention cannot be conveyed properly, this is called implicit meaning. The branch of linguistics that discusses about implicit meaning is Implicature. The Cooperative Principle describes how effective communication is produced through mutual cooperation among discussion partners. It emphasizes the underlying notion that speakers and listeners will engage in a dialogue in order to be informed, relevant, clear, and genuine. Movie is a form of visual media that incorporates moving images, sound and other visual elements to tell a story, convey a message, entertain or provide an experience to the audience. This study aims to analyze what types of conversational implicature are contained in Coco's film and what non-observe maxims occur in the conversational implicature. The theory used in this study is the theory of implicature and cooperative principles put forward by Grice (1975). The research method used is descriptive research method with data taken from the Coco film script. Based on the results of the research, the writer found two types of conversational implicature with particularized conversational implicature dominates the conversational implicature in Coco's film. For the second research question, the researcher found that there are 6 types of non-observe maxims that occur in Coco's film, including: flouting maxim of manner, flouting maxim of relation, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of quantity, opting out maxim of manner and violating maxim of relations. Flouting maxim of manner dominates all types of non-observe maxims found. INDONESIA : Bahasa adalah media komunikasi yang digunakan manusia secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Pada dasarnya, bahasa yang digunakan harus disampaikan sejelas mungkin agar pendengar bisa mengerti arti dari percakapan yang dilakukan tanpa adanya ambiguitas. Tetapi dalam penggunaannya, niat dari pembicara tidak bisa disampaikan dengan jelas, hal inilah yang disebut dengan makna implisit. Cabang ilmu liguistik yang membahas mengenai makna implisit adalah implikatur. Prinsip Kerja Sama menggambarkan bagaimana komunikasi efektif dihasilkan melalui kerja sama antar mitra diskusi. Hal ini menekankan gagasan mendasar bahwa pembicara dan pendengar akan terlibat dalam dialog agar mendapatkan informasi, relevan, jelas, dan tulus. Film adalah suatu bentuk media visual yang menggabungkan gambar yang bergerak, suara, dan elemen visual lainnya untuk menceritakan sebuah cerita, menyampaikan pesan, menghibur atau memberikan pengalaman kepada penontonnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis conversational implicature apa saja yang terkandung dalam film Coco serta non-observe maxims apa saja yang terjadi pada conversational implicature tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori implicature serta cooperative principles yang dikemukakan oleh Grice (1975). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode penelitian deskriptif dengan data yang diambil dari script film Coco. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, peneliti menemukan dua jenis conversational implicature dengan particularized conversational implicature mendominasi conversational implicature yang ada di dalam film Coco. Untuk pertanyaan penelitian kedua peneliti menemukan ada 6 jenis non-observe maxims yang terjadi di dalam film Coco, antara lain: flouting maxim of manner, flouting maxim of relation, flouting maxim of quality, flouting maxim of quantity, opting out maxim of manner dan violating maxim of relation. Flouting maxim of manner mendominasi dari semua jenis non-observe maxims yang ditemukan. Kata Kunci: Implikatur, Implikatur Percakapan, Prinsip Kerja Sama, Film.
