Abstract

This research has the interest in researching about the evolution of woman protagonist and antagonist in Disney Princess Franchise 1990-2021. Using the notion whereby literaray works is slowly over changing over its formula and emerging the novelty of deconstruction narrative from the traditional one. It also rejoiced the consideration to discover the relationship between protagonists and antagonists based on its performativity. It provides the grounded claim to interpret the narrative of identity or notion based on how the relationship is being performed. This research used the research method of qualitative descriptive which progressed to display the greater detail understanding over the discovery. As a result, the evolution of Disney princess which formulated as “Princess = Desire + Guy + Bad Guy has come to the novelty of “Princess = Desire + Consequences. However, in the relationship of the protagonist and antagonist. There are the relation performativity of Disney character base on protagonist over passive princess heroine leaded by active male hero and manifested antagonist character, the relation performativity of Disney character base on protagonist active princess heroine companied by passive male hero and manifested antagonist character, and the relation performativity of Disney character base on protagonist active princess heroine independently and antagonist is determined by the heroine consequences decision.
