Abstract

The purpose of this study is to figure out what students perceive regarding the use of Quillbot.com in the Indonesian to English translation. Quillbot.com is a website that offers automated grammatical proofreading and translation services. However, the usage of Quillbot.comin translation is still expanding. This study included 2020 students from the State Islamic University of Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung who participated in the Indonesian-English Translation Course. This study employs a qualitative technique and a case study design. Questionnaires, interviews, and document analysis were used to collect data. This study employed in-depth interviews and questionnaires to examine phenomena connected to the use of quilbot.com in Indonesian-English Translation classes. In this study, purposive sampling was used. The questionnaire was completed by 41 people, and five of them were chosen for interviews and document analysis. The findings of this study indicate that using quillbot.com for Indonesian-English translation has a positive effect. After using quillbot.com, the quality of students’translations improved. In addition, employing quillbot.com in translation sessions helps students enhance their writing skills. Since the results of the analysis of documents given to students, students can delve deeper and identify the true competence level in Indonesian-English translation procedures by completing this research. Furthermore, Lecturers are expected to be able to use translation practices with AI, such as Quillbot.com, as an effective technique to teaching translation in order to strengthen students' translation skills, particularly writing skills.
