Abstract

INDONESIA : Penelitian terdahulu menunjukkan bahwa terdapat fenomena impulsive buying pada mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara impulsive buying dengan self control. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian menggunakan rancangan kuantitatif dengan analisis korelasi Pearson product moment untuk memprediksi hubungan antara impulsive buying dan self control. Subjek dalam penelitian ini merupakan mahasiswa rantau yang berstatus aktif berkuliah di UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. Teknik penarikan sampling yang digunakan adalah probability sampling dengan metode simple random sampling, sehingga menghasilkan sampel yang sesuai dengan kriteria penelitian sebanyak 168 responden. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa koefisien korelasi adalah sebesar -0.473 dan nilai taraf signifikansi adalah 0.00 atau lebih kecil dari 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05), yang berarti bahwa terdapat hubungan signifikan secara negatif antara impulsive buying dengan self control. ENGLISH : Previous research shows that there is a phenomenon of impulsive buying in students. This research was conducted with the aim of finding out the relationship between impulsive buying and self-control. The design used in the research uses a quantitative plan with Pearson product moment correlation analysis to predict the relationship between impulsive buying and selfcontrol. The subjects in this research were overseas students who were actively studying at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The sampling technique used was probability sampling with a simple random sampling method, resulting in a sample that met the research criteria of 168 respondents. The results of this research show that the correlation coefficient is -0.473 and the significance level value is 0.00 or less than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05), which means there is a negative significant relationship between impulsive buying and self-control.
