Abstract

The following research is based on Craig Mazin's The Last of Us television series. The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the process and application of the Anti-Hero characterization of the main character. The second objective of this research is to describe the character development process of the main character in the story. The method used to achieve the research objectives was based on interpretation through visuals and dialog contained in the performance. The interpretation process was supported by relevant characterization theories. This, coupled with an objective approach that focuses on the content contained in the object of research by considering the theory used as a point of view. The conclusion on this research contained the two answers of the research problems; 1. Joel’s anti-hero roles showed the lack heroic attributes as the main character. 2. Character development produced changes on Joel’s character and motive as anti-hero roles from heroic to anti-hero which significantly affects the storyline.
