Abstract

This research focuses on the influence of the Let's Read application to increase students' interest in reading English texts. This research uses quantitative methods using statistical models as the data analysis methodology. A pre-experimental design was used to collect data. The research population was all class VII students at SMPN 1 Bojongsoang for the 2023/2024 academic year. Sampling was carried out by purposive sampling, by determining class VII C as the experimental class with a total of 31 students. The research results showed that students' interest in reading using the Let's Read application resulted in an average pre-test score of 54.84 in the "low" category and an average post-test score of 84.35 in the "good" category. The increase in pre-test and post-test scores was 29.51 points, which means interest in reading English texts increased significantly. This is further supported by the paired sample test score (0.000. < 0.05.). As a result, the N-gain score shows 0.64 which is smaller than 0.70. Thus, this shows that using the Let's Read application can significantly increase interest in reading English texts. In conclusion, students' reading interest can increase significantly by using the Let's Read application.
