Abstract
This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of podcast media in improving students’ listening comprehension. The goal of this study was to determine students’ listening comprehension before using podcast media, students’ listening comprehension after using podcast media, and if there was a significant effect before and after podcast media on students’ listening comprehension. This study employs a quantitative methodological approach with a pre-experimental research design. The study was conducted at SMK Taruna Harapan 2. This study included 25 eleventh-grade students from the 2022/2023 school year. Pre-test and post-test data are collected. This study discovered a significant difference in students’ listening comprehension before and after podcasts. In addition, the tcount (14,772) was found to be significantly higher than the ttable using t-test data (2.064). It indicates that podcast media in class can significantly improve students’ listening comprehension. In conclusion, podcast media can improve students’ listening comprehension. Therefore, podcasts are an excellent medium for improving students’ listening comprehension. Therefore, based on the resulting, podcast can be an alternate media for teaching listening. In addition, various media in teaching learning activities will interest students in learning.
