Abstract

ENGLISH This research focuses on the experiential meaning of inauguration speeches analyzed by transitivity analysis. The objectives of the research are to find out the types of processes employed in the text and find out the meaning of processes. The research belongs to the qualitative research and also textual analysis method. This research has applied purposive sampling to select the source of data and also have applied total sampling technique to collect the data. It was done because the data were taken from www.millercenter.org on January 20, 2017. The data were analyzed using transitivity. Having analyzed the text using transitivity system, the researcher have concluded that there are more process types emerge and explain what is meant by the appearance of the process type. The findings shows of the six types appear and have their own meaning. The dominant process applied in text is material process. Then it is followed by mental process, verbal process, behavioural process, relational process and existential process. Material process is the highest percentage of process. The study also shows the different meaning of realization each process. President Clinton, Obama and Trump frequently uses material processes to paint a bleak picture of America and to describe new actions the government will take. He also uses relational processes to lay out a new vision for America. All in all, through the transitivity analysis of presidents Clinton, Obama and Trump inaugural address, it can be found that presidents Clinton, Obama and Trump real purpose is to stabilize the whole Americans, establish a good president image and win more support and trust in the world. INDONESIA Penelitian ini berfokus pada analisis makna pengalaman pidato pelantikan Donald Trump yang dianalisis dalam analisis teks. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis proses yang digunakan dalam teks, mencari tahu makna pengalaman. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian kualitatif dan juga metode analisis tekstual. Hal itu dilakukan karena data diambil dari www.millercenter.org terbit pada 20 Januari 2017. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan transitivitas. Setelah menganalisis teks dengan menggunakan sistem transitivitas, peneliti menyimpulkan bahwa ada lebih banyak jenis proses yang muncul dan menjelaskan apa yang dimaksud dengan tampilan tipe proses dan partisipan. Temuan menunjukkan dari keenam tipe tersebut muncul dan memiliki arti tersendiri. Proses dominan yang diterapkan dalam teks adalah proses material. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan proses mental, proses verbal, proses perilaku, proses relasional dan proses eksistensial. Proses material adalah persentase proses tertinggi. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan arti berbeda dari realisasi setiap process. President Trump sering menggunakan proses material untuk melukiskan gambaran suram tentang America dan untuk menggambarkan tindakan baru yang akan diambil pemerintah. Dia juga menggunakan proses relational untuk menyusun visi baru untuk Amerika. Dari keseluruhan analisis transitivitas pada pidato pelantikan Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Donald Trump nyatanya menstabilkan seluruh Amerika, Memperlihatkan potensi presiden dan memenangkan dukungan lebih dan kepercayaan dunia.
