Abstract
Masculinity is the characteristics that are traditionally thought to be typical of or suitable for men. The purpose of this research is to find out how the depiction of the characteristics of masculinity contained in the Barbie 2023 film. Masculinity in Barbie 2023 is very interesting to discuss because it can be identified from various characteristics contained in the film, in this case the identification of masculinity can be seen from how the characters in this film behave, the instrinsic elements implied in the film, the setting, and also other things that illustrate how the characcteristics of masculinity are contained in the film using the masculinity theory by John Beynon and theory of stereotypical masculinity by Zysberg. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative through practical explanation of theory and research through descriptive narratives. The results of this study found two findings, there are There are several characteristics of masculinity and its stereotypes in this film object, including how the depiction of masculinity attitudes from the figure of Ken and stereotypes of masculinity from various other side actors in accordance with the theoretical depiction of Beynon and Zysberg.
