Abstract

This research discusses the myths of "Dewi Sri" by Ki Umbara between "Ostara" by Edain McCoy. This research aims to find similarities in mythical themes and mythical functions based on Mircea Eliade's theory presented by the two works. Therefore, this research uses a comparative literature study based on the theories of Susan Bassnett and Sapardi Djoko Damono. The descriptive narrative approach in the comparative literature study is used to examine the themes and functions of myths presented in the two works. This analysis focuses on the overall content of the two works under study, identifies themes and functions to be compared, and provides a deeper understanding of how myths and their functions play a role in different cultures.
