Abstract
INDONESIA: Pencemaran logam berat timbal (Pb) dalam air merupakan masalah serius karena bisa membahayakan kesehatan manusia dan lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi hal ini, diperlukan bahan adsorben yang ramah lingkungan dan efektif dalam menurunkan kadar ion Pb(II) dalam air. Penelitian ini bertujuan mensintesis HAp dari cangkang telur bebek sebagai alternatif adsorben. Sintesis dilakukan melalui metode hidrotermal dengan variasi suhu 125, 150, dan 175˚C, kemudian diikuti karakterisasi menggunakan XRD dan SEM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa HAp_125, HAp_150, dan HAp_175 memiliki struktur kristal heksagonal. Morfologi ketiga HAp berupa aglomerasi partikel dengan rasio Ca/P sebesar 1,66 yang menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan HAp standar. Ukuran kristal masing-masing HAp adalah 20,22; 20,78; dan 22,58 nm. Tingkat kristalinitas berturut-turut adalah 73,32; 75,55; dan 80,57%, menunjukkan peningkatan seiring dengan kenaikan suhu sintesis. Dalam uji efisiensi adsorpsi, HAp_125 memberikan performa terbaik dengan penurunan ion Pb(II) hingga 99,6%, diikuti oleh HAp_150 (94,81%) dan HAp_175 (82,82%) pada kondisi optimal tertentu. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa HAp dari cangkang telur bebek dapat digunakan sebagai adsorben ramah lingkungan untuk mengatasi pencemaran logam berat dalam air. ENGLISH: Lead (Pb) heavy metal pollution in water is a serious problem because it can harm human health and the environment. To overcome this, an environmentally friendly adsorbent material is needed that is effective in reducing the level of Pb(II) ions in water. This study aims to synthesize HAp from duck eggshells as an alternative adsorbent. Synthesis was carried out using a hydrothermal method with temperature variations of 125, 150, and 175˚C, followed by characterization using XRD and SEM. The results showed that HAp_125, HAp_150, and HAp_175 have a hexagonal crystal structure. The morphology of the three HAp is in the form of particle agglomeration with a Ca/P ratio of 1.66 which indicates compliance with standard HAp. The crystallite sizes of each HAp are 20.22; 20.78; and 22.58 nm. The crystallinity levels are 73.32; 75.55; and 80.57%, showing an increase along with the increase in synthesis temperature. In the adsorption efficiency test, HAp_125 gave the best performance with a reduction of Pb(II) ions up to 99.6%, followed by HAp_150 (94.81%) and HAp_175 (82.82%) at certain optimal conditions. These results prove that HAp from duck eggshells can be used as an environmentally friendly adsorbent to overcome heavy metal pollution in water.
