Abstract
INDONESIA: Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai gambaran cyberchondria pada anggota “Komunitas Marah-Marah” yang menunjukkan perilaku self-diagnose, jenis gangguan mental yang digunakan untuk mendiagnosis secara mandiri, dan media yang digunakan untuk mendiagnosis mandiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Adapun subjeknya adalah perempuan berumur 18-24 tahun, tergabung dalam “Komunitas Marah-Marah”, serta menghabiskan 1-3 jam sehari untuk mencari informasi kesehatan mental di internet. Langkah analisis datanya adalah dengan mengelompokkan informasi yang didapatkan sesuai dimensi yang kemudian digunakan untuk menarik kesimpulan akhir. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa, ketiga subjek menunjukkan perilaku cyberchondria pada dimensi compulsion, distress, excessiveness, dan reassurance. Namun, tidak pada dimensi mistrust of medical professional. ENGLISH: This study examines the description of cyberchondria among members of the “Komunitas Marah-Marah” who exhibit self-diagnosing behavior, the type of mental disorders used for self-diagnose, and the media used to self-diagnose. This study used a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. The subjects are females aged 18-24 years old, members of the “Komunitas Marah-Marah”, and spend 1-3 hours per day searching for mental health information on the internet. The data analysis step involves grouping the obtained information according to dimensions which are then used to draw the final conclusions. This study shows that, all three subject exhibit cyberchondria behavior in the dimensions of compulsion, distress, excessiveness, and reassurance. But, not in the dimension of mistrust of medical professional.
