Abstract
INDONESIA: Tanaman padi merupakan komoditas pertanian yang sangat penting di Indonesia karena merupakan sumber pangan utama bagi lebih dari 260 juta penduduk. Silika bukan merupakan unsur hara esensial bagi tanaman, namun unsur ini berperan penting dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman padi. Aksesi padi lokal asal wilayah Rancakalong, Sumedang memiliki karakteristik morfologis dan fisiologis yang berbeda-beda yang berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai varietas unggul berdaya hasil tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pupuk silika terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil berbagai aksesi tanaman padi lokal Rancakalong, Sumedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Petak Terbagi (Split-Plot Design) dengan petak utama adalah perlakuan silika dan anak petak adalah 10 aksesi/varietas padi (9 benih aksesi padi lokal asal Rancakalong Sumedang dan 1 varietas padi unggul) dengan 2 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pupuk silika mampu memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap parameter tinggi tanaman padi umur 20 HST serta Aksesi Rayot merupakan aksesi terbaik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi dari pemberian silika melalui parameter tinggi tanaman 20 HST. ENGLISH: Rice is a crucial agricultural commodity in Indonesia, serving as the main food source for over 260 million people. Silica isn't an essential nutrient for plants, but it plays a crucial role in supporting the growth and productivity of rice plants. Local rice accessions from the Rancakalong region, Sumedang, possess diverse morphological and physiological characteristics, holding the potential for development into high-yielding superior varieties. The objective of this research was to determine the effect of silica fertilizer application on the growth and yield of various local rice accessions from Rancakalong, Sumedang. This study employed a Split-Plot Design, with the main plot being silica treatment and the subplot consisting of 10 rice accessions/varieties (9 local rice accession seeds from Rancakalong, Sumedang, and 1 superior rice variety), replicated twice. The results of this study indicated that silica fertilizer application provided the best results for the parameter of rice plant height at 20 days after planting (DAP). Furthermore, the Rayot accession was identified as the best accession for improving rice plant growth and yield from silica application, specifically through the plant height parameter at 20 DAP.
