Abstract
Multimedia data is often used on the internet, so it needs a data security before the transmission. One of the major branches of data or information security is cryptography. The combination of RC4 cryptographic algorithms and the Base 64 cryptographic algorithm makes multimedia data safer and with additional, steganographic algorithms using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) method. Steganography different from cryptography, because steganography holds the existence of confidential information while cryptography stores the information content. Applications are made in accordance with the specifications required by the user to be able to send a secret message without being noticed by unwanted parties. The message will be encrypted using the RC4 cryptographic algorithm and then encrypted again with the Base 64 cryptographic algorithm, after that the message will be hidden in the image using a steganographic algoritma with the LSB method. This research uses Prototype as software development method which interact with client and determine the final result of application. Of the 50 time tests, 94% of the data was successfully processed by a combining of RC4 and Base 64 cryptographic algorithm and LSB steganography algoritma. Failure of 6% is because the character exceeds the size of the image or vice versa.
