Abstract

INDONESIA: Proses produksi program di media televisi merupakan tahapan penting yang menentukan kualitas konten yang akan disajikan kepada pemirsa. CNN Indonesia Biro Jawa Barat memproduksi Inside Jawa Barat yang menampilkan budaya, kuliner, wisata dan kearifan lokal. Setiap tahapan dijalankan secara terstruktur dan kolaboratif oleh tim yang terdiri dari produser, reporter, editor, dan kru teknis lainnya. Melalui pendekatan produksi yang menggabungkan nilai informatif dan hiburan, Inside Jawa Barat tidak hanya menjadi media informasi, tetapi juga sarana pelestarian budaya lokal yang dikemas secara menarik bagi khalayak luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji proses produksi program berita Inside Jawa Barat, mulai dari tahap perencanaan, pengumpulan informasi, tapping, penyuntingan, hingga penyajian akhir. Fokus penelitian mencakup bagaimana tim produksi memilih tema, menentukan lokasi, menghadapi tantangan teknis di lapangan, serta mengemas konten agar tetap relevan dan menarik bagi audiens. Penelitian ini berlandaskan model yang diperkenalkan Alan Wurtzel yang disebut sebagai Four Stages of Television Production. Model ini terdiri dari empat tahap yang meliputi preproduction planning, set up and rehearsel, production, postproduction. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini berupaya memberikan gambaran menyeluruh mengenai dinamika kerja tim produksi dalam menyusun sebuah tayangan yang tidak hanya informatif, tetapi juga menghibur dan berakar pada nilai budaya. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi akademik yang signifikan dalam memahami praktik produksi program berita lokal, khususnya dalam konteks media televisi yang beroperasi di tingkat daerah. Melalui kajian mendalam terhadap proses produksi program Inside Jawa Barat pada CNN TV Biro Jawa Barat dengan menyoroti berbagai tahapan pra-produksi, produksi dan pasca- produksi penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman tentang strategi dan pendekatan kreatif yang digunakan dalam menyusun narasi lokal yang kuat dan relevan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menjadi bahan pertimbangan bagi pengembangan studi komunikasi, media lokal, serta produksi konten berbasis budaya, yang diharapkan dapat memperkaya literatur di bidang jurnalistik televisi dan produksi media lokal di Indonesia. ENGLISH: The production process of television programs is a crucial stage that determines the quality of content presented to viewers. CNN Indonesia’s West Java Bureau produces Inside Jawa Barat, a program that showcases the region’s culture, culinary heritage, tourism, and local wisdom. Each stage of production is carried out in a structured and collaborative manner by a team consisting of producers, reporters, editors, and technical crew. Through a production approach that combines informative value with entertainment, Inside Jawa Barat serves not only as a source of information but also as a platform for preserving local culture, presented in an engaging way to a broad audience. This study aims to examine the production process of the Inside Jawa Barat news program, covering the stages of planning, information gathering, recording, editing, and final presentation. The research focuses on how the production team selects themes, determines locations, addresses technical challenges in the field, and packages content to remain relevant and appealing to the audience. The study is based on Alan Wurtzel’s model, known as the Four Stages of Television Production, which consists of four phases: preproduction planning, set-up and rehearsal, production, and postproduction. The research adopts a descriptive qualitative method, with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. It seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the dynamics within the production team in creating a program that is not only informative but also entertaining and rooted in cultural values. The findings are expected to contribute significantly to the academic understanding of local news program production practices, particularly in the context of television media operating at the regional level. Through an in-depth study of the production process of Inside Jawa Barat at CNN TV’s West Java Bureau highlighting the stages of preproduction, production, and postproduction. This research offers insights into the strategies and creative approaches employed to craft a strong and relevant local narrative. Furthermore, it serves as a reference for the development of studies in communication, local media, and culture-based content production, enriching the literature in the fields of television journalism and local media production in Indonesia.
