Abstract
INDONESIA: Tingginya tuntutan akademik yang disertai dengan kewajiban kepesantrenan menjadikan santri Sekolah Menengah Atas (SMA) di lingkungan pondok pesantren rentan mengalami stres akademik. Kondisi tersebut menuntut santri untuk mampu mengelola diri serta beradaptasi dengan lingkungan sosial yang kompetitif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self-regulation dan social comparison terhadap stres akademik pada santri SMA di Pondok Pesantren X Sumedang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode regresi linear berganda. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 250 santri yang terdiri dari santri laki-laki dan perempuan kelas 4, 5, dan 6 dengan latar belakang jurusan yang beragam. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas santri berada pada kategori sedang untuk ketiga variabel, yaitu self-regulation, social comparison, dan stres akademik. Hasil analisis inferensial menunjukkan bahwa self-regulation dan social comparison secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap stres akademik dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (p < 0.05) dan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 27,9%. Secara parsial, self-regulation berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap stres akademik (β = −0.351; p < 0.05), yang menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi self-regulation maka semakin rendah tingkat stres akademik. Sementara itu, social comparison berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap stres akademik (p < 0.05) dengan kontribusi pengaruh yang lebih besar dibandingkan self-regulation, yaitu sebesar 22.4%. Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa stres akademik pada santri dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal berupa kemampuan self-regulation serta kecenderungan social comparison. Oleh karena itu, upaya peningkatan self-regulation serta pengelolaan kecenderungan social comparison menjadi penting dalam menekan tingkat stres akademik santri di lingkungan pesantren. ENGLISH: The high academic demands coupled with Islamic boarding school obligations make senior high school students (SMA) in Islamic boarding schools vulnerable to academic stress. This condition requires students to be able to manage themselves and adapt to a competitive social environment. This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulation and social comparison on academic stress in senior high school students at Islamic Boarding School X Sumedang. This study used a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression methods. The research subjects were 250 students consisting of male and female students in grades 4, 5, and 6 with diverse major backgrounds. The results of the descriptive analysis show that the majority of students are in the moderate category for the three variables, namely self-regulation, social comparison, and academic stress. The results of the inferential analysis show that self-regulation and social comparison simultaneously have a significant effect on academic stress with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and an influence contribution of 27.9%. Partially, self-regulation has a negative and significant effect on academic stress (β = −0.351; p < 0.05), which indicates that the higher the self-regulation, the lower the level of academic stress. Meanwhile, social comparison has a positive and significant effect on academic stress (p < 0.05) with a greater influence contribution than self-regulation, which is 22.4%. The findings of this study indicate that academic stress in Islamic boarding school students is influenced by internal factors, including self-regulation skills and social comparison tendencies. Therefore, efforts to improve self-regulation and manage social comparison tendencies are crucial in reducing academic stress levels among Islamic boarding school students.
