Abstract

INDONESIA : Tingginya angka perceraian di Kota Bandung yang mencapai 7.119 kasus pada tahun 2025 serta didominasi oleh faktor perselisihan, menunjukkan masih rendahnya kepuasan pernikahan pada sebagian pasangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran loneliness sebagai mediator pada pengaruh alexithymia terhadap marital satisfaction. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional dengan uji mediasi PROCESS Hayes pada 140 responden yang sudah menikah berusia 25-40 tahun berdomisili di Kota Bandung. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alexithymia berpengaruh positif terhadap loneliness (β = 0,714; p < 0,05), sedangkan loneliness berpengaruh negatif terhadap marital satisfaction (β = -0,691; p < 0,05) dan loneliness terbukti memediasi pengaruh alexithymia terhadap marital satisfaction secara parsial. Kedua perdiktor menjelaskan 84,3% variasi marital satisfaction. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan mengenali dan mengekspresikan emosi dapat meningkatkan kesepian dalam pernikahan, yang pada akhirnya menurunkan kepuasan pernikahan. ENGLISH : The high divorce rate in Bandung, which reached 7,119 cases in 2025 and was primarily driven by marital disputes, indicates that marital satisfaction remains low among some couples. This study aims to examine the role of loneliness as a mediator in the effect of alexithymia on marital satisfaction. This study employed a quantitative correlational approach using Hayes’ PROCESS mediation test on 140 married respondents aged 25–40 residing in Bandung. The results of this study indicate that alexithymia has a positive effect on loneliness (β = 0.714; p < 0.05), while loneliness has a negative effect on marital satisfaction (β = -0.691; p < 0.05), and loneliness was found to partially mediate the effect of alexithymia on marital satisfaction. These two predictors account for 84.3% of the variation in marital satisfaction. These findings suggest that difficulty recognizing and expressing emotions can increase loneliness in marriage, which ultimately reduces marital satisfaction.
