Abstract
This research aims to studied one of the radiotherapy techniques of VMAT and to know the dose distribution of VMAT on phantom cylinders with MLC pycom and MLC Dicoman using Monte Carlo method – EGSnrc. VMAT is one of the techniques of radiotherapy in which all fractions of the dose are given continuously as the gantry rotates around the patient with manages gantry rotation speed, MLC leaf position and the dose fraction given. The simulation process starts with head linac modeling using BEAMnrc, then simulation Monte carlo VMAT using DOSXYZnrc. Input parameters for BEAMnrc and DOSYZnrc simulations using information from data DICOM rtplan AAA. The results of this study will provide information on the characteristics of photon beam 6 MV such us fluence, energy fluence, the spectral distribution and energy fluence distribution, and dose distribution on phantom cylinders. The Simulation Monte Carlo VMAT is done by using 300 million particles which produced a dose distribution of VMAT in the form of dose profile curves and isodose curves, where the curve showed that in the simulation VMAT using phantom arccheck and phantom python with MLC pycom and MLC Dicoman produced maximum dose distribution on the isocenter region.
