Abstract

Tanah memiliki kemampuan dalam mengadsorpsi bahan kimia baik senyawa organik maupun anorganik. Unsur Si dan Al menempati urutan terbanyak setelah oksigen dalam tanah. Dominasi komposisi silikon dan aluminium dalam tanah tentunya memiliki peranan penting terhadap karakteristik tanah terutama terhadap daya adsorpsinya. Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian adalah menganalisis kandungan kimia yang terdapat pada tanah di berbagai wilayah dan menjelaskan korelasi komposisi silikon dan aluminium dalam tanah terhadap daya adsorpsinya pada larutan berwarna metilen biru. Sejumlah sampel tanah diambil dari 5 kawasan dengan pengambilan sampel pada setiap kawasannya sebanyak 6 titik pada kedalaman 20 cm. Preparasi sampel tanah dilakukan dengan pemanasan pada suhu 110˚ C selama 48 jam. Komposisi unsur kimia pada tanah di berbagai wilayah dikarakterisasi menggunakan fluoresens sinar-X (XRF). Daya adsorpsi tanah diketahui berdasarkan hasil interaksi antara tanah dengan larutan metilen biru menggunakan Spektrofotometer Ultraviolet-Sinar Tampak (UV-Vis). Metode batch digunakan untuk menentukan kondisi optimum proses adsorpsi menggunakan sampel tanah yang memiliki daya adsorpsi paling tinggi. Korelasi komposisi silikon dan aluminium dengan daya adsorpsi tanah diplotkan dalam kurva regresi linear, logaritmik, dan eksponensial. Mekanisme adsorpsi ditentukan dengan menggunakan model isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir, Freundlich, BET, dan Temkin. Komposisi unsur kimia yang terdapat pada sampel tanah di berbagai wilayah secara umum yaitu silikon (Si), aluminium (Al), besi (Fe), kalsium (Ca), kalium (K), titanium (Ti), mangan (Mn), dan magnesium (Mg). Berdasarkan nilai regresi linear, logaritmik, dan eksponensial menunjukkan adanya korelasi antara komposisi silikon dan aluminium dalam bentuk Si-Al dalam % massa dan mol dengan daya adsorpsi tanah terhadap larutan metilen biru. Kondisi optimum proses adsorpsi larutan metilen biru yaitu pada waktu kontak selama 6 menit, massa adsorben 0,06 gram, dan konsentrasi larutan metilen biru 100 ppm. Mekanisme adsorpsi tanah diperkirakan sesuai dengan model isoterm adsorpsi BET. ABSTRACT Soil has a capability to chemical adsorption both organic and inorganic compound. The element Si and Al is the most rank after oxygen in soil. Dominant of Si and Al composition in soil certainly has important role to soil characteristic especially to soil adosrption power. The purpose of this research are analyze chemical composition of soil in various place and explain correlation composition of silicon and aluminium in soil to adsorption power on methylene blue. The soil samples collected from 5 place which is each in 6 point at 20 cm depth. Soil samples were dried in oven at 110˚ C for 48 hours. Soil samples chemical composition analyzed by X-Ray fluoresens (XRF). Soil adsorption power is known based on interaction between soil and methylene blue result used ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer (UV-Vis). Batch method used to determine optimum condition for adsorption proces use soil sample which is has the best adsorption power. Correlation composition of silicon and aluminium with soil adsorption power plotted in linear, logaritmic, and exponensial regression chart. Adsorption mecanism was determine with used isotherm adsorption model Langmuir, Freundlich, BET, and Temkin. Chemical composition in soil samples in general are silicon (Si), aluminium (Al), iron (Fe), calcium (Ca), potassium (K), titanium (Ti), manganese (Mn), and magnesium (Mg). Based on linear, logaritmic, and exponensial regression chart, indicate that correlation composition of silicon and aluminium form (Si-Al) % mass with soil adsorption power to methylene blue solution. Optimum condition adsorption proces methylene blue solution are 6 minute of contact time, 0,06 gram of adsorben mass, and 100 ppm of methylene blue solution concentration. Adsorption mecanism indicate that appropriate with isotherm adsorption model BET.
