Abstract

This research examines the syntactic structure of the code switching in the KambingJantan book written by Raditya Dika. Code switching is an event about the change of the use of one language (code) to another language in the utterance or conversation, one of the factors of the code switching can be caused by the situation which has been changed. The event of code switching in this research focuses on the uses of English in the book and to find out how the syntactic structure of the code switching used in the data. As for the supporting theory in this research, there are three theories which is used by the writer such as, at the first theories is a theory about code switching that is suggested by Poplack (1976) uses to find out the types of code switching that accurs based on the forms of code itself. Then, at the second theories from Aarts (2001) with regarded to the form levels of the sentences structure in English. As well as at the third is in Nurhapitudin opinion (2016) about the analysis of sentences structure with uses the tree diagram analysis. Furthermore, the method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The descriptive method is used by the writer in the analyzing data to be able to describe a situation or event of code switching which is availabe in the book as accurately and actual. While qualitative is a technique of collecting data, in this case the technique which done by the writer is reading a document. The document reffered to one of the Raditya Dika’s best seller book, KambingJantan. In addition, the data which is taken in this research all of it sourced from that book. Based on the results finding of this research, the writer found three types of code switching contained in the book such as the tag switching, intrasentential switching and intersentential switching. Then, at the form levels of syntactic structure of code switching that occurs such as code switching formed of the words level, phrases, clauses, and sentences. Then, from 50 data which is taken about code switching, there are 7 cases in the form of tag switching, 28 cases as intrasentential switching and 15 cases as intersentential switching. In addition, in 50 data based on the form levels of syntactic structure of code switching consists of 15 cases in the form of words level, 20 cases of the phrases 2 cases of the clauses and 13 cases at the sentences. Thus, it can be concluded that the dominant types of code switching is intrasentential switching and at the form levels of syntactic structure of code itself is most widely used is at the phrases level. INDONESIA Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang struktur sintaksis dari alih kode dalam buku KambingJantan yang ditulis oleh Raditya Dika. Alih kode merupakan suatu peristiwa mengenai peralihan pemakaian suatu bahasa (kode) ke bahasa lain dalam suatu ujaran atau percakapan, salah satu faktor terjadinya alih kode dapat disebabkan oleh perubahan situasi. Alih kode yang dikaji dalam penelitian ini berfokus pada bentuk penggunaan bahasa Inggris yang terdapat dalam buku tersebut dan untuk mengetahui bagaimana struktur sintaksis dari alih kode yang digunakan dalam data yang tersaji. Adapun tiga teori pendukung yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam penelitian ini seperti, pada teori pertama ialah teori mengenai alih kode yang dikemukakan oleh Poplack (1976) untuk mengetahui tipe alih kode yang terjadi berdasarkan bentuk alih kode itu sendiri. Kemudian, teori kedua dari Aarts (2001) yang berkaitan dengan bentuk level struktur kalimat dalam bahasa Inggris. Serta, teori ketiga berasal dari pendapat Nurhapitudin (2016) yakni mengenai analysis sturuktur kalimat dengan menggunakan tree diagram analysis. Selanjutnya, metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Metode deskriptif ialah metode yang digunakan oleh penulis dalam menganalisis data untuk dapat menggambarkan suatu keadaan atau peristiwa yang tersaji dalam buku secara akurat dan aktual. Sedangkan kualitatif ialah teknik pengumpulan data, dalam hal ini teknik yang dilakukan oleh penulis ialah reading a document. Dokumen yang dimaksud ialah salah satu buku best seller Raditya Dika, KambingJantan. Selain itu, data yang diambil dalam penelitian ini seluruhnya bersumber dari buku tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil dari dari penelitian ini, penulis menemukan tiga tipe alih kode yang terdapat dalam buku tersebut seperti tag switching, intrasentential switching, dan intersentential switching. Kemudian, pada bentuk level struktur sintaksis dari alih kode yang terjadi antara lain ialah alih kode berupa bentuk kata, frasa, clausa dan kalimat. Kemudian, dari 50 data yang diambil mengenai alih kode, terdapat 7 data dalam bentuk tag switching, 28 data sebagai intrasentential switching dan 15 data sebagai intersentential switching. Selain itu, dalam 50 data berdasarkan bentuk level struktur sintaksis pada alih kode terdiri dari 15 data dalam bentuk kata, 20 data frasa, 2 data clausa dan 13 data pada level kalimat. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa tipe alih kode yang dominan adalah intrasentential switching dan pada bentuk level struktur sintaksis dari alih kode tersebut yang paling banyak digunakan adalah berupa frase.
