Abstract
INDONESIA Pembuatan bioetanol berbahan dasar singkong menghasilkan limbah padat yang berpotensi untuk dijadikan pakan ternak. Namun, limbah tersebut memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang rendah, apabila diberikan pada ternak secara langsung. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, limbah tersebut mengandung serat kasar tinggi yaitu 16,57%. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya pengolahan terlebih dahulu, salah satunya adalah dengan cara fermentasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh urea dan sulfur terhadap fermentasi limbah padat bioethanol dengan menggunakan starter EM-4 (Effective Microorganisms-4). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental, menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) pola faktorial 3 x 3, 3 kali ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah urea dengan dosis N1=0%, N2=1,5%, dan N3=3%, dan faktor kedua adalah sulfur dengan dosis S1=0,00%, S2=0,02%, dan S3=0,04%. Peubah amatan pada penelitian ini adalah asam laktat, pH, susut bahan kering, dan serat kasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara penambahan urea dan sulfur terhadap asam laktat, susut bahan kering, dan serat kasar, namun tidak terdapat interaksi urea dan sulfur terhadap pH. Penambahan urea 3% menghasilkan asam laktat paling tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata 1,32% dan serat kasar yang paling rendah dengan nilai rata-rata 11,58%. Penambahan sulfur 0,04% menghasilkan asam laktat paling tinggi yaitu 1,30%, serta menghasilkan pH dan susut bahan kering yang rendah dengan nilai rata-rata 3,80 dan 12,97%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa urea 3% dan sulfur 0,04% merupakan perlakuan yang paling baik. ENGLISH The making of bioethanol made from cassava leaves a solid waste that can potentially be used as animal feed. However, waste has a low nutrient content when given to animals directly. Based on the analysis, waste contains 16,57% of high crude fiber. Therefore, waste should be done with pretreatment, and one of the way was done by fermentation. The aim of study was to determine the effect of supplementation of urea and sulfur in bioethanol solid waste fermentation using EM-4 (Effective Microorganisms-4). This research was conducted with the experimental method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in the 3 x 3 with 3 replications. The first factor was supplementation of urea, N1=0%, N2=1,5%, and N3=3% and the second factor was supplementation of sulfur, S1=0,00%, S2=0,02%, and S3=0,04%. The measured parameters were lactic acid, pH, dry matter loss, and crude fiber. The result showed that there was an interaction of supplementation urea and sulfur in bioethanol solid waste fermentation by EM-4 on lactic acid, dry matter loss, and crude fiber, but not interaction on pH. The addition of urea 3% produced the highest of lactic acid within the average value of 1,32% and produced the lowest crude fiber within the average value of 11,58%. The addition of sulfur 0,04% produced the highest of lactic acid within the average value of 1,30% and produced pH and dry matter loss that low within the average value 3,80 and 12,97%. The research showed urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% provided the best results.
