Abstract

ENGLISH Conflict is always there in human life and literary works. It is important part in the story. It can influence of psychological or behavior someone. Novel Suzanne Collins entitled The Hunger Games has been chosen for analyzing the psychological or behavior problem in the main character. The research tries to find three matters; 1) to know inner conflicts of Katnis Everdeen in The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins 2) to know the cause factors of inner conflicts of Katnis Everdeen and 3) to know the solutions of inner conflict to Katnis Everdeen. The research explains about inner conflict of the main character. Conflict can show inner conflict of someone. It is related to find inner conflict of someone. It has the cause factors that show inner conflicts. It uses theory by Eagle. The theory use defense mechanism by Tyson. The researcher uses qualitative method because this research uses to describe the data. Then to support this method, the researcher uses some data resources. The data is taken from novel Suzanne Collins titled The Hunger Games. The result of research shows that this novel relate with psychological of main character. Katnis Everdeen as main character, she has to survive her life, although it has feel anxiety of herself, because she must follow the scary games. She must kill or being killed. Inner conflict always comes to Katnis because of anxiety. Many factor that influence of psychological and behavior Katnis Eveerden is the rule of the games, environment, family, the bad experience and others. She has solutions to overcome inner conflict. It is form displacement and avoidance from defense mechanism. INDONESIA Konflik selalu ada dalam kehidupan manusia dan karya sastra. Konflik adalah bagian terpenting dalam cerita. Konflik dapat berpengaruh pada psikis atau perilaku seseorang. Novel Suzanne Collins yang berjudul The Hunger Games dipilih untuk menganalisis masalah perilaku atau kejiwaan terhadap tokoh utama. Penelitian mencoba untuk menemukan tiga persoalan; 1) untuk mengetahui konflik batin pada Katnis Everdeen dalam novel The Hunger Games oleh Suzanne Collins 2) untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor penyebab konflik batin pada Katnis Everdeen dan 3) untuk mengetahui solusi pada konflik batin terhadap Katnis Everdeen. Penelitian menjelaskan tentang conflik psikis pada tokoh utama. Konflik bisa memunculkan konflik psikis pada seseorang. Keduanya sangat berhubungan dalam menemukan konflik psikis terhadap seseorang. Itu memiliki factor penyebab yang memunculkan konflik psikis. Itu menggunakan teori dari Eagle. Teori mengggunakan system pertahanan dari Tyson.Itu solusi dari konflik batin. Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif karena penelitian ini digunakan untuk menggambarkan sebuah data. Kemudian untuk memperkuat metode ini, peneliti menggunakan beberapa sumber data. Data yang diambil dari novel Suzanne Collins yang berjudul The Hunger Games. Hasil peneliti menunjukan bahwa novel ini berhubungan dengan psikis dan perilaku terhadap tokoh utama. Katnis Eveerden sebagai tokoh utama, dia berjuang untuk tetap hidup walupun merasa cemas pada dirinya, karena Katnis Everdeen harus mengikuti permainan yang menakutkan. Dia harus membunuh atau dibunuh, Konflik batin pada Katnis selalu datang karena rasa cemas dan takut. Banyak factor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pada psikis Katnis Everdeen, seperti peraturannya yang ada, lingkungan, keluarga, pengalaman yang buruk, dan orang lain. Dia memiliki solusi untuk mengatasi konflik batin. Itu adalah bentuk pemindahan dan penghindaran dari sitem pertahanan.
