Abstract
Globalization has big influence toward relationship among the countries including about borrowing word in it. The borrowing word needed more explanation and obvious formulation as the ultimate understanding for every language users. Moreover, the borrowing word comes in many aspects especially in political area that exist in Indonesia through the mass media. Therefore, the researcher tries to analyze two aspects: the first what are the borrowing words or terms that exist in one of national newspaper: Kompas. And the second how are the morphological formulation toward those borrowing words or terms founded in Kompas detailed using the theory of morphology. The researcher uses qualitative-descriptive method by Creswell (2009) in analyzing the data. This method tries to explore more about what words or terms are including into the English borrowing terms in Indonesian politic. Moreover the researcher explains about the formulation through the morphological formulation method by Booij (2005) that reveals about morpheme, word class, derivation and inflection. After the data are collected, then the data are identified using the selection process, classified using the morpheme division (free and bound morpheme), and the last, interpreted according to the related explanation to get the obvious result. The uses of English political terms are influenced by some factors such as prestige, the word simplification and the new word building. These statements become the basic of the first reason why the people choose in borrowing the English terms to convey their feeling and mind in conversation (written and spoken). The result of the research reveals that there are ninety five political terms borrowed from English. The terms ended by –si are fifty nine words classified as nouns. Then about ten terms ended by –ism classified as nouns, the terms ended by –tas are seventeen whereas, the terms ended by –tif classified as adjective are nine words. These result shows that English political terms are used in Bahasa Indonesia. The conclusion of this research shows that many Indonesian people tended to choose the English borrowing word in their conversation with the other especially in political area using the word with suffixes –si that has been mixed into their mother language. The second place followed by the word or terms with suffixes –tas that quite much used as the tools to convey their mind and feeling. This fact is proving that the borrowing word happens in many language especially in Bahasa Indonesia.
