Abstract

The research discuses about code mixing in Ridwan Kamil’s twitter account. The main reason of this research is the emergence of code mixing in Ridwan Kamils twitter account becoming a phenomenon that is interesting to be analyzed. the specify the research, the analysis is devided into two statement problems, namely: (1) in what language levels does the code mixing in Ridwan Kamil’s twitter account occur? (2) what kind of code mixing is it in that Ridwan Kamil’s twitter account? The research used desciptive method by which the researcher categorizes, describes and explores the data naturally in order to be able to answer the question. For supporting the analysis, the researcher uses wardhaugh, Fishman and suwitos’s theories to solve the question of the research. The data used in this research are taken from Ridwan Kamil’s twitter account. The data are categorized based on language levels in syntactic category in code mixing and kinds of code mixing namely: insertion, alternation and congruent lexicalization. The result of the research derives from the research question in statement of problem representing the whole of the research. In analyzing the data, the researcher get some steps; categorizing, describing and exploring or analyzing the data supported by the theories in chapter II. After doing those steps, the researcher finds the answer of the research question and makes some conclusion to specify the result. According to the analysis, the researcher can find some conclusion of the research. Firstly the researcher find to groups of code mixing in Ridwan Kamil’s twitter account in language levels; Syntax, Morphology, Phonology and Semantic consisting in this research. Secondly the researcher finds that the code mixing in Ridwan Kamil’s twitter consisting in types of code mixing such as insertion, alternation, and congruent lexicalization.
