Abstract

The phenomenon of the transformation of literature today is very diverse, it is evident that literary work has an influence on the formation of works that are currently popular and relevant to the dynamics of the development of life needs. Like the phenomenon of the La La Land movie scenario fragments which was transformed into a tote bag design. In this reasearch there are two reseach objective: 1. Use value from La La Land movie scenario transformed into tote bag design for team creator; 2. Exchange values form La La Land movie scenario transformed into tote bag design for team creator. To moralize between several literary theories with theories other than literature, researcher put aesthetic theory. As Wolff states the model does not allow for the possibility of art and literature in their turn affecting other elements of society and of being historically affective. At most, that their aesthetic codes and stylistic conventions guarantee them a degree of aesthetic autonomy from authomatic social determination. Besides, researcher also put other theories as popular culture theory, transformation theory, use value theory and exchange value theory. In the process of data analysis, researcher identify several data and facts from the phenomenon of problems related to the object of research, looking for other supporting data such as conducting interviews via email with team creator. From the categorization of data, facts and results of the interview the researcher explained and interpreted it which led to the object of research. In analysis and discussion researcher explained use and exchange values of the transformation of works from movie scenario into tote bag design for team creator. In conclusion, researcher found positive impact from phenomenon of the transformation of work as literary works are still able to adapt to the existence of other cultural products and the existence of literary works and art works can be said to still be able to take a role in the process of cultural circulation; and negative impacts as understanding the existence of literature in the transformation of tote bags with movie scenario becomes difficult to understand directly.
