Abstract
This research aims to describe students’ activities, analyze the development of students’ environmental literacy abilities after learning and identifying students’ responses after learning use chemistry magazine on the concept of petroleum. The method that used was a pre-experiment with a one-shot case study research design. The subjects of this research were 30 students of class XI SMA PGRI Bandung. The instruments that used were observation sheets of students’ activities, test of environmental literacy abilities, and student questionnaire responses. The results showed that students’ activities reached a very good category with an average percentage pf 98%. The environmental literacy of students gained an average score of 77 with good category. Score of 72 with indicator of environmental knowledge. Score of 76 with indicator of cognitive skills. Score of 86 with indicator of attitudes toward the environment, and a score of 73 with indicator of actions towards the environment. Thus, learning to use chemistry magazines on the concept of petroleum can develop students’ environmental literacy.
