Abstract

INDONESIA : Masa remaja tidak mungkin terlepas dari permasalahan. Mulai dari masalah akademik, masalah dengan orang tua, masalah dengan teman sebaya dan masalah dengan lingkungannya yang lain, dan akan berdampak kepada tingkat kecerdasan emosional individu itu sendiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh kecerdasan emosi terhadap problem solving pada remaja SMPN “X” di Kabupaten Garut.Desain penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kuantitatif,analisis statistik yang digunakan yaitu uji regresi sederhana, subjek penelitian 270 remaja SMPN “X” di Kabupaten Garut . Berdasarkkan hasil uji statistic bahwa terdapat pengaruh kecerdasan emosi terhadap problem solving pada remaja SMPN “X” di Kabupaten Garut dengan signifikasi ,000 < 0,05. hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan,dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh antara kecerdasan emosi terhadap problem solving. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan hasil koefisien determinasi yang dapat dilihat dari R square 0,408 . yang berarti terdapat pengaruh sebesar 40,8 persen antara kecerdasan emosi terhadap problem solving sedangkan 50,2 persen itu di pengaruhi oleh factor lain yang tidak diteliti pada penelitian ini diantaranya jenis kelamin, usia, kompetensi, pengalaman, konsentrasi, dan kreatifitas. ENGLISH : Adolescence can not be separated from problems. Starting from academic problems, problems with parents, problems with peers and problems with other environments, and will have an impact on the level of emotional intelligence of the individual itself. This study aims to find out how much influence the emotional intelligence of problem solving in adolescents "X" SMPN in Garut Regency. The design of this study uses quantitative research, statistical analysis used is a simple regression test, research subjects 270 SMPN "X" teenagers in Garut Regency . Based on the results of statistical tests that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on problem solving in adolescents "X" SMPN in Garut Regency with significance, 000 <0.05. the results of research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is an influence between emotional intelligence on problem solving. This is evidenced by the results of the coefficient of determination that can be seen from R square 0.408. which means there is an influence of 40.8 percent between emotional intelligence on problem solving while 50.2 percent is influenced by other factors not examined in this study including gender, age, competence, experience, concentration, and creativity
