Abstract

INDONESIA : Tradisi intelelektual di pondok pesantren berakar pada aqidah. Keyakinan ini yang mendorong para santrinya mengubah cara berpikir. Pondok pesantren menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisah dengan pengembangan intelektualitas santri yang lebih dikenal dengan tradsisi intelektualnya. Sehingga perilakunya mencerminkan sebuah karakter yang melekat padanya yang memiliki ilmu pengetahuan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi: 1) kondisi objektif sistem pendidikan; 2) pola tradisi intelektual yang terjadi di pondok pesantren tersebut dalam pembentukan nilai-nilai akhlak; 3) konstruksi tradisi intelektual dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai akhlak santri di pondok-pondok pesantren tersebut; 4) faktor pendukung dan penghambat serta penanganan tradisi intelektual dalam pembentukan karakter santri, dan 5) dampak upaya meningkatkan tradisi intelektual pondok pesantren al-Basyariah dan al-Ihsan terhadap pembentukan karakter santri. Pondok pesantren merupakan lembaga pendidikan Islam yang megedepankan pemikiran sebagai sebuah upaya untuk melestarikan, mengalihkan dan mentransformasikan nilai-nilai ajaran Islam yang mencari kebenaran dan menjawab permasalahan yang terjadi sekarang ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif yakni mendeskripsikan suatu data dengan teknik pengumpulan datanya langsung dari orang dalam lingkungan yang dijadikan tempat penelitian. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: 1) eksistensi kedua pondok pesantren sistem pendidikannya menggabungkan dua model pesantren yakni salaf dan khalaf, yakni menyelenggarakan sistem pendidikan dan pengajaran non klasikal tetapi juga menyelenggarakan pendidikan formal, serta para santrinya menetap di pondok; 2) Pola tradisi intelektual di kedua pondok pesantren tersebut menggunakan pola pendidikan khalaf, perpaduan kurikulum pesantren dengan kurikulum Nasional; 3) Kontruksi tradisi intelektual dalam pembentukan karakter santri melaksanakan bentuk program yaitu pembelajaran, pembiasaan dan keteladanan; 4) Faktor pendukung dari tradisi intelektual dalam pembentukan karakter santri di kedua pondok pesantren tersebut adalah: a) adanya jiwa keihlasan dari para pengasuh dan pendidik; b) adanya sistem pemondokan, kemudian faktor penghambatnya adalah: a) tingkat usia para santri yang berbeda-beda mempengaruhi kemampuan para santri untuk memahami materi yang diajarkan; b) pengasuh dan pendidik mampu memperhatikan perbedaan tingkat usia tersebut. Kemudian strategi penanganan tradisi intelektual dalam pembentukan karakter santri harus memperhatikan orientasi sebagai tujuan yang hendak dicapai, dan 5) dampak tradisi intelektual melalui proses pendidikan dan pembiasaan di pondok pesantrenadalah terbentuknya para santri sebagai ilmuawan yang memiliki akhlak karimah. ENGLISH : The intellectual tradition in Islamic boarding school is rooted in aqeedah. This belief wich drives the santri to change their way of thinking. Islamic boarding school are an integral part of santri intellectual development which isbetter known as its intellectual tradition. So that his behavior reflects a character attached to him who has knowledge. This study is aimed at identifying: 1) the objective conditions of the education system; 2) patterns of intellectual traditions that occur in Islamic boarding school in the formation of moral values; 3) the construction of intellectual traditions in instilling the moral values santri in the boarding schools; 4) supporting and inhibiting factors and the handling of intellectual traditions in the formatting of santri characters, and 5) the impact of efforts to increase the intellectual tradition of al-Basyariyah and al-Ihsan Islamic Boarding School towards the formation of santri character. Islamic boarding school are Islamic educational institution that promote thinking as an effort to preserve, divert and transform the values of Islamic teachings that seek the truth and answer the problems that occur today. This study uses a qualitative approach and the interactive methods is the reason because the results of the research are descriptive data with oral words from people involved in an institution and using techniques of collecting data directly from people in the environment that are used as research sites. The results of this study indicate that: 1) the two Islamic boarding schools in the education system combine two models of pesantren namely salaf and khalaf, which are non-classical education and teaching systems but also provide formal education, and the santri settle in the cottage; 2) the pattern of intellectual tradition in both Islamic boarding schools uses the pattern of khalaf education, a combination of pesantren curriculum with the National curriculum; 3) the construction of intellectual traditions in the formation of the character of the santri implements the program’s forms of learning, habituation and exemplary; 4) supporting factors of the intellectual tradition in the formatting of the character of the santri in the two boarding schools are: a) the existence of the spirit of negativity of the caregivers and educators; the existence of boarding system, while the inhibiting factors are: a) the age level of the santri which varies according to the ability of the santri to understand the material being taught; b) caregivers and educators must be able to pay attention to differences in age levels. Then the strategy of handling intellectual traditions in the formation of the character of the santri must pay attention to orientation as the goal to be achieved, and 5) the impact of the intellectual tradition through the process of education, and habituation in Islamic boarding school, is that the santri’s abe formed to be scholars who have noble character.
