Abstract

Patchouli propagation (Pogostemon cablin Benth.) subculture in tissue culture technique is a vert efficient way to produce superior and uniform seeds in a shorter time. Commonly, in tissue culture technique used growth regulator to increase the number of explant that can regenerate into callus. growth regulator used for callus propagation is NAA (Naphthaline Acetic Acid) which has the property of stimulating cell division and protein synthesis to stimulate callus growth.This study aims at knowing the explants response to the use of growth regulator NAA (Naphthaline Acetic Acid) with 0,1 ppm of callus growth. The results showed that the NAA growth regulator given had a different response which included callus growth and adventitions shoots in all explants that were alive after subculture. The use of growth regulator NAA (Naphthaline Acetic Acid) 0,1 ppm on Patchouli explants can grow callus with a greenish-white crumb texture.
