Abstract
INDONESIA : Sabun yang berfungsi untuk membersihkan kulit dari kotoran saat mandi dapat memiliki manfaat lebih sebagai pelindung kulit, salah satunya dari pengaruh radikal bebas. Senyawa yang dapat menangkal radikal bebas adalah antioksidan yang dapat berasal dari biji kurma Sukkari (Phoenix dactylifera L.). Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui senyawa metabolit sekunder dan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak etanol biji kurma Sukkari yang kemudian diformulasikan pada sabun padat untuk menggantikan antioksidan sintetik, kemudian menguji karakteristik dan mutu sabun yang dihasilkan. Skrining fitokimia dilakukan untuk senyawa flavonoid, tanin, alkaloid, saponin, terpenoid dan steroid, kemudian untuk aktivitas antioksidan diuji menggunakan metode DPPH. Pada evaluasi karakteristik sabun meliputi pH, tinggi busa, dan kekerasan sabun, sedangkan mutu sabun meliputi kadar air, total lemak, bahan tak larut etanol, alkali bebas dan asam lemak bebas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol biji kurma Sukkari mengandung senyawa flavonoid, tanin, alkaloid, dan terpenoid, juga memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang sangat kuat dengan nilai IC50 47,97 μg/mL. Formulasi sabun padat yang dihasilkan memiliki karakteristik yang setara dengan sabun komersial dan mutu yang memenuhi SNI 3532:2016 sabun mandi padat. ENGLISH : Soaps that function to clean the skin from dirt when bathing can have more benefits as a skin protector, one of which is from the influence of free radicals. Compounds that can counteract free radicals are antioxidants that can come from the seeds of Sukkari dates (Phoenix dactylifera L.). The purpose of this study was to determine secondary metabolites and antioxidant activity in the ethanol extract of Sukkari date palm seeds which were then formulated in solid soap to replace synthetic antioxidants, then to test the characteristics and quality of the resulting soap. Phytochemical screening was carried out for flavonoid compounds, tannins, alkaloids, saponins, terpenoids, and steroids, then the antioxidant activity was tested using the DPPH method. The evaluation of the characteristics of soap includes pH, foam height, and soap hardness, while the quality of soap includes water content, total fat, ethanol insoluble material, free alkali, and free fatty acids. The results showed that the ethanolic extract of Sukkari date palm seeds contained flavonoid compounds, tannins, alkaloids, and terpenoids, and also very strong antioxidant activity with an IC50 value of 47.97 g/mL. The resulting solid soap formulation has characteristics equivalent to commercial soap and the quality meets SNI 3532:2016 solid bath soap.
