Abstract

Youtube has become one of the applications often used by people of all ages. Youtube is also now one of the most popular social media among students. All kinds of videos are available on YouTube, and everyone can learn from YouTube, including young learners who are the object of research on teaching English grammar through songs on the Cocomelon YouTube channel. The purposes of this research are to describe the implementation of the teaching of grammar using English songs from the Cocomelon Youtube channel implemented in the EYL classroom and to identify young learners' perceptions of using English songs from the Cocomelon Youtube channel for learning grammar. A qualitative method is applied in this research and uses a case study design. The collecting data consists of observation, questionnaire, and interview. The research site is in MTs Al-Aziz, Tasikmalaya, and the participants are the seventh-grade Junior High School, consisting of 20 students and a teacher as an instructor. Analyzing and interpreting qualitative data is preparing and organizing the data for analysis, exploring and coding the data, coding to build descriptions and themes, presenting and reporting qualitative findings, interpreting the results, and validating the findings. The research finding shows that teaching English grammar through songs from Cocomelon videos on YouTube is divided into three stages: Pre-Listening Activity, While-Listening Activity, and Post-Listening Activity. The pre-listening activity, The first step is the pre-watching activity, asking about their experiences to find the relationship between students' knowledge and the video content they will watch later. In the while-listening action, all students watch a selected video while filling in several activities prepared by the teacher to measure the extent to which they understand the noun and pronoun material contained in the lyrics. In the post-listening activity, the teacher elicits examples of nouns and pronouns from three videos prepared and the teacher's review of the material of nouns and pronouns that have been studied. From the data, The researcher concludes that students positively respond to using Cocomelon videos on YouTube to learn English Grammar. 25% of students agree, 60% approve, and 15% strongly agree that Cocomelon videos on YouTube are one of the many good media for me to learn English grammar. It can conclude that the Cocomelon channel can positively affect students' knowledge of the example of nouns and pronouns in English grammar for Foreign Languages. Based on the data, it can conclude that teaching grammar to young learners through songs from the Cocomelon video on Youtube is effective at the seventh grade of MTs Al-Aziz Tasikmalaya. It is suggested to use the Cocomelon video from Youtube as a media for learning English grammar to Young learners.
