Abstract

INDONESIA : Tuntutan peran laki-laki adalah menjadi tangguh, unggul dan pantang menangis sehingga laki-laki fokus mengejar kesuksesan, mengutamakan kekuasaan, membatasi emosi dan memiliki konflik antara kegiatannya dengan hubungan keluarga. Dibutuhkan strategi koping yang efektif untuk dapat menangani masalah yang dimiliki. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh konflik peran gender laki-laki dewasa terhadap strategi koping. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan 385 responden mahasiswa laki-laki usia 18-25 tahun dengan teknik sampling accidental sampling. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan kuesioner skala Gender Role Conflict Scale I (GRCS-1) dan The Ways of Coping Questionare (WCQ) untuk mengukur skala konflik peran gender dan strategi koping. Hasil analisis data menggunakan uji regresi linier sederhana (p < 0.05) menunjukkan bahwa konflik peran gender laki-laki dewasa berpengaruh sebesar 10.7 % terhadap strategi koping dengan nilai signifikansi 0.000. Kesimpulannya, semakin tinggi konflik peran gender maka semakin efektif strategi koping. ENGLISH : The demands of the male role are to be tough, superior and never cry. So that, men focus on pursuing success, prioritize power, limit emotions and have conflicts between their activities and family relationships. An effective coping strategy is needed to deal with their problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adult male gender role conflict on coping strategies. This study used a quantitative approach with 385 male student respondents aged 18-25 years using accidental sampling technique. Research data collection used the Gender Role Conflict Scale I questionnaire (GRCS-1) and The Ways of Coping Questionnaire (WCQ) to measure the scale of gender role conflict and coping strategies. The results of data analysis using a simple linear regression test (p < 0.05) showed that gender role conflict in adult males had an effect of 10.7% on coping strategies with a significance value of 0.000. In conclusion, the more higher gender role conflict, will be more effective coping strategies.
