Abstract

This research is mostly research on the act of speech illocution in the lyrics of the song Daud Warnsby. This research has two statement of problem, that is: (1). 1.What are the illocutionary acts used in Daud Warnasby's songs?(2) .What are the contextual meanings of illocutionary acts used in Daud Warnasby's songs?. To answer the above two questions, the researcher uses the theory of Illocution and J.L.Austin discussing the act of speech illocution in a speech. This research uses descriptive qualitative research method. Using this method,the researcher focuses on the process by trying to understand how the act of illocutionary speech is used in song lyrics using four steps in analyzing that is by identifying, categorizing, explaining, and then making interpretations or interpretations. The results show that the act of illocutionary speech is contained in the lyrics of the song which is divided into five acts of illocutionary act according to Austin, one of the acts of expositive illocution in one of the lyrics. They say, "Oh, poor girl, you're so beautiful you know, It is a shame that you cover up your beauty. In this quotation the lyrics enter into the act of expositive speech where in nature an action language giving speech that the speech is a speech that gives a view at a description of the woman covering her beauty with hijab, there is a speakers' negative statement speak an opinion.
