Abstract
Digital literacy skills are important things that everyone must have. Especially in the field of education, teachers play an important role in applying these abilities to teaching. Researchers found the phenomenon that schools rarely use digital technology and teachers are not used to teaching using digital technology. To overcome this problem, there are several things that can be explored more deeply: 1. The digital literacy skills of English information teachers must continue to be improved. 2. The implementation of digital literacy teacher abilities in the teaching process must be optimized. Therefore, the initial aim of this research is to see how English teachers' abilities are and their application when teaching. The theoretical framework used is Gilstler (1997). According to his understanding, English teachers who have digital literacy skills can easily access all information and insights from open materials via digital devices. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study design. The participants in this research consisted of two English teachers at Mekar Arum High School, Bandung. The sample used was purposeful for this research. Researchers conducted a questionnaire to determine teachers' abilities in digital literacy. Then conduct interviews to dig up deeper information regarding his abilities in digital literacy. Then observe teachers implementing digital literacy in the teaching process to prove the results of previous data collection. Based on the results of questionnaires and interviews, it shows that the digital literacy skills of English teachers are quite good. Even the results of observations when teaching in class show that the teachers apply their digital skills optimally. Even though this implementation was actually carried out this year. But, overall, it's pretty good. In conclusion, the English teacher's ability to be digitally literate and its application in the teaching process is in accordance with the theory that having digital literacy skills can facilitate teaching and learning activities, make teaching effective and efficient, and increase student interest and motivation when teaching.
