Abstract

ENGLISH: This study aims to determine the types of Ontological Metaphors from Taylor Swift's song lyrics in Folklore album (2020) As the main theoretical basis, this study uses the conceptual metaphor theory of Lakoff and Johnson (2003) to classify three types of metaphors, namely: container metaphor, entity and substance metaphor and personification. This research uses descriptive qualitative analysis, which is data from a study presented in the form of words in paragraphs, which makes the data more described in more detail. This research determines the types of ontological metaphors and describes the denotative and connotative meanings behind Taylor Swift's song lyrics in Folklore album. From the Ontological Metaphor types, 33 Container Metaphors, 13 Entity and Substance Metaphors and 14 Personifications were obtained. In addition, from 62 Ontological Metaphor data, there are 62 denotative meanings and 62 connotative meanings. This research aims to explore how Taylor Swift portrays ontological concepts involving existence, identity, and human relationships in the context of her song lyrics. INDONESIAN: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tipe-tipe Metafora Ontologis dari lirik lagu Taylor Swift di dalam Folklore album (2020) Sebagai landasan teori yang utama, penelitian ini menggunakan teori metafora konseptual dari Lakoff dan Johnson (1980) untuk mengklasifikasikan tiga jenis metafora yaitu: container metafora, metafora entitas dan substansi serta personifikasi. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis kualitatif deskriptif, yaitu data dari suatu penelitian disajikan dalam bentuk kata kata didalam paragraf, yang membuat data tersebut lebih di deskripsikan secara lebih rinci. Data yang didapatkan berupa tipe-tipe Metafora Ontologis yang diperoleh dari lirik-lirik lagu Taylor Swift dalam Folklore album. Penelitian ini menentukan tipe-tipe Metafora Ontologis dan mendeskripsikan makna denotatif dan konotatif dibalik lirik lagu Taylor Swift dalam Folklore album. Dari tipe-tipe Metafora Ontologis tersebut didapatkan 33 Container Metafora, 13 Metafora entitas dan substansi serta 14 Personifikasi. Selain itu dari 62 data Metafor Ontologis terdapat 62 makna denotatif dan 62 makna konotatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelajahi bagaimana Taylor Swift menggambarkan konsep-konsep ontologis yang melibatkan eksistensi, identitas, dan hubungan manusia dalam konteks lirik lagunya.
