Abstract
Derivational suffixes are changes in word structure that alter the meaning of a word as well as its class. These derivational suffixes appear in several places, including the translation of Surah Al-Mulk. This study has two main goals: the first is to determine the type of derivational suffixes found in the translation of Surah Al-Mulk, and the second is to determine the meaning of each derivative found in the translation of Surah Al-Mulk. Because it examines data descriptively based on morphological theory and systems, this study employs a qualitative descriptive method. This study employs a single core theory, the Ingo Plag theory, to identify and discuss derivational suffixes. the researchers reached the following conclusions based on their findings: a) there are 16 derivative words that contain religious terms: competent, forgiving, creation, merciful, punishment, dreadful, keeper, warner, alienation, forgiveness, publicize, resurrection, grateful, truthful, and painful. b) a nominal suffix, such as -ful creates a word of the object, indicating possession or abundance, whereas a proper word suffix, such as -ful and -ent, creates a word that reflects quality or condition, an adverbial suffix creates an explanatory word by emphasizing certainty or doubt, and an end -ize creates a word that is proper to a word, indicating the process of popularizing something.
