Abstract
This research discussed about the effectiveness of using TikTok on students' vocabulary mastery at junior high school. Several problems were found in learning vocabulary. such as students were less motivated to learn English and they were lack of vocabularies because the teacher used conventional media. Thus, this research proposed the TikTok as the online media in improving students' vocabulary mastery. This research aims to determine students' vocabulary mastery before and after using the TikTok application. Additionally, to know the significant improvement before and after using the TikTok application. This research uses quantitative methods with a pre-experimental design. The design used one group pre-test and post-test class. This research carried out at SMPN 4 Cimahi, Melong Raya, Cimahi City. The population of this study was seventh grade at SMPN 4 Cimahi. This research used sample of 36 students from class 7I. The results of this data were analyzed using SPSS version 26 with three different types of tests. There are normality test, hypothesis test, and N-Gain test.The result of this study show that students' vocabulary mastery differs between before and after utilizing the TikTok application. Version 26 of SPSS used to analyze the data before and following the tests. The student achieved a mean score of 70.14 after utilizing the application, as opposed to 59.72 before its use. The distinction between the students’ vocabulary mastery before and after utilizing the TikTok application has significant differences.
